Castle Forest Lodge – Mount Kenya Hotels

Castle Forest Lodge is located deep in the thick forest on the slopes to the south of Mount Kenya.

It is set in a natural surrounding of rainforest, fresh water rivers with falls, a fabulous view of the valley on one side of the lodge, and the impressive peaks of Mount Kenya on the other.

RESTAURANT & BAR

We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner at set hours with a daily changing menu. Snacks are available throughout the day and so are drinks from our well stocked bar.
LEISURE VERANDA

Surrounded by the mystic of the indigenous rain foress the Veranda is the ideal place to relax and unwind.

BUSH HUT

At about 8km north of the lodge lies the Castle Forest Lodge Bush Hut – the hut offers a unique and rare escape to nature only.
CONFERENCE ROOM

We offer a dedicated room for small meetings and training sessions.

SWIMMING POOL

Our swimming pool is situated on the border of the rain forest and is often visited by elephants seeking refreshment during the dry seasons.

AT THE FOREST LODGE WE OFFER:

Cottages with fireplace, where a fire is lit for you at night;

Bungalows with two double rooms, living room with fireplace, a private veranda and shower/toilet;

Double/single/twin rooms at the main house;

unlimited camping space with use of clean hot showers and toilets

and finally our bush hut for guests seeking complete privacy in the serene rain forests on the slopes of Mt. Kenya.

The beautiful serene magic of the indigenous trees and the hidden presence of the animals of the forest alone give an atmosphere of peace and mystic, which helps the tired traveler or the stressed out business person to unwind.
YOUR HOST TO THE FOREST

Furthermore one can go for a swim in the pool, go fishing for trout in one of the rivers, go horse back riding, hiking or simply hang around the veranda in a rocking chair.

HIKING & MOUNTAIN CLIMBING

The hiking possibilities for day trips or short walks around the lodge are in fact unlimited. Guides and porters are available who have spent their whole live in the forest and can tell all about its mysteries.

There is a route to the top of Mount Kenya, which starts directly from the lodge. It is called the “Kamweti route” and is not frequently used, which makes it even more of an adventure to approach the summit from this side. The “kamweti” route offers two different packages depending on time, one of five days and one of seven.
