Elephant Pepper Camp is situated within the protected Mara North Conservancy, well away from other lodges. In 2011 SUJÁN joined hands with Liz and Stefano Cheli to forge a partnership of conservation across continents; wedding our practises with their expertise of Africa. Cheli & Peacock is a formidable name in East African Safaris. Their accumulated wisdom of conservation practises, deep knowledge of the bush and many years as pioneers in the Mara North Conservancy effort, of which Stefano is President, ensures that we are able to create one of the finest game experiences in the Masai Mara, whilst ensuring a luxurious safari.

Our spacious canvas tents are comfortably furnished, featuring en–suite bathrooms. In order to preserve this special area, the camp is seasonal and closes for two months of the year. Elephant Pepper Camp is among the few camps in Kenya to have received the Gold Eco-rating certification by Ecotourism Kenya for two consecutive years and it is our constant endeavour to maintain this standard.
Nothing rivals sitting around the campfire enjoying the sounds of the African night. Extended game drives which continue into the evening make game viewing a complete experience. Elephant Pepper Camp will draw you back to nature; no traffic, no permanent structures, just the sights and sounds of the African bush.

The Camp

Our 9 green canvas tents are redolent of a pioneering safari tradition, synonymous with Eastern Africa. Private verandas, close lying hammocks and the seclusion of the African bush ensure your moments at Camp are full of relaxation and provide a quiet interlude during life on safari. Every tent has its own bathroom and traditional safari showers and can fit an extra bed to accommodate children under the age of 16 years. The Honeymoon Tent consists of one spacious main bedroom, an en-suite bathroom, large veranda with seating, dining areas and a private camp-fire area. This tent can comfortably fit two extra beds, and is therefore also suitable for families.

Using original Italian recipes passed down from the founder Stefano Cheli’s mother, Elephant Pepper Camp’s cuisine includes a mouth-watering combination of homemade pastas, traditional recipes such as Melanzane Parmigiana and Osso Bucco, and fresh organic salads.
One of the joys of being on safari is to eat together and share your daily adventures with other guests. Dining together is the normal practice at Elephant Pepper Camp, although private dinners are also arranged on request.
