Leleshwa Camp is an intimate tented camp located on the exclusive Siana Conservancy adjacent to the world renowned Masai Mara, regarded as one of the wildlife jewels in Kenya. Our camp charms guests with its warm welcome and rests along a stream valley overlooking picturesque hills and rolling plains.
The camp design projects elegance and style in a relaxed environment and blends in harmoniously with the majestic landscape. Guests are hosted by the owners for whom camp is home and we aspire to offer you a truly authentic African Safari experience. Yet a stay with us is not only about comfort; it is about discovery and exploration. No two days at Leleshwa Camp need ever be the same, yet all hold the promise of adventure. You determine the pace of your stay with us and we will tailor your safari activities to your personal preference.
The thrill of leaving camp at dawn on a game drive in search of big cats is only equaled by the constant stimulation of your senses with the sights, smells and sounds of the Masai Mara. The scent of rain begins to draw the Wildebeest Migration from The Serengeti throughout July, and soon the planet’s greatest animal migration is underway. The sight of the migration is staggering – an endless grey river of wildebeest mottled with black and white as zebras join the throng that stretches from one horizon to the other.
As the morning sun’s golden glow tinges the horizon, rise above the world on an enthralling Hot Air Balloon Ride across untamed vistas and enjoy a birds eye view of nature unfolding. A visit to an authentic Masai manyatta is an exciting cultural experience and provides a personal insight into their ancient traditions. We tailor design short walks across the conservancy plains and, for the intrepid explorer, multiple days of hiking in the Loita Hills featuring 200km² of forests, breathtaking waterfalls and spectacular birdlife.
Our hands-on digital photography workshops focus on wildlife, nature and local tribal culture within the Masai Mara eco system. The workshops target both the enthusiastic beginner and seasoned photographers who have not previously specialized in wildlife photography. The Masai Mara is an ideal location for your wedding, honeymoon or renewing your marriage vows. Your ceremony will be one of your greatest occasions and we will ensure that you celebrate in style.
Leleshwa Camp invites you to join us on a journey of enlightenment and rejuvenation!
‘Your home away from home’
Our warm hospitality and attention to detail provides a relaxed environment for you to enjoy the simplistic elegance that defines Leleshwa Camp. Our seven secluded and spacious tents create an ideal atmosphere to relax, listen to the quiet and enjoy breathtaking views. Each tent opens out onto a large verandah and includes a super king size bed and adjoining bathroom with running water and flushing toilets. We also offer two suites with an adjoining lounge which are ideal for a romantic honeymoon or for families.
As you set out on your game drives with your guide and at your own pace, we will provide you with a picnic breakfast if it is an early start and lunch that you can enjoy under a tree whilst lazing on a picnic blanket. After a hot shower to rinse away the dust, join your hosts in the lounge tent and social fireplace which overlook the Ropile stream. End another exciting day of exploring with the sun setting, a cocktail around a social fireplace and share your stories before a candlelit dinner prepared by our Maasai chef, Patita. At the end of another exhilarating day recline in the inviting lounge with a book from our library, a drink from the bar and a selection of games.
We embrace Africa’s beauty and do not limit our meal times to the dining tent. Meals are often set ‘al fresco’ under the shade of trees in or out of camp and dinners out under the starry African sky or, if you prefer a private romantic meal, at your tent. For the more adventurous, walk out to a campsite and enjoy an evening with the Masai people, roasting marshmallows around a fire and eating a hearty meal heated over the campfire before settling down for the night.
Every day on safari brings another experience and we look forward to sharing this with you and welcoming you into our home.
