Accommodation
The camp consists of six spacious mosquito proof tents (twins/doubles). All the tents have standard classic beds, linen, bedside tables, luggage racks and rugs. Bathrooms are en-suite and are equipped with a dresser, shower and flushing toilet with running water. Triple tents only arranged on very special requests, but the camp discourages triple occupancy to ensure free movement within the tents.

Location:

Losokwan Luxury Camp is situated in Aitong Plains in Lemek Conservancy, on the edge of the famous Maasai Mara game reserve. Surrounding camps are Richards Camp, Kicheche Mara Camp, Mara Safari Club among others.

Childcare
Losokwan Camp welcomes children but is not suited to very young children as the camp is unfenced. For this reason, children must be supervised at all times. Meals can be tailored to individual tastes and earlier meal times can be arranged where necessary. Babysitting can also be organized for those that require it and payments settled directly with the local nannies.

Activities
Game drives are available throughout the area and your guide will tailor activities to suit your requirements. Trips to the local Maasai villages can also be arranged for those interested in experiencing Kenya’s unique Maasai culture. The camp can also arrange visits to Aitong town on Thursdays, which is the official market day to experience the traditional trade. Escorted nature walks can also be arranged within the camp with our experienced naturalists.
 When to travel

Losokwan Camp is open throughout the year. Wildlife is available throughout the year, but this is well blended with the Great Wildebeest Migration which tends to pass through the Mara from mid July to late October.

Safety
Safety is a priority to us and our askaris (day & night-watchmen) patrol the camp at regular intervals to ensure maximum security for the guests. The Askaris offer free escort services to the guests at all times to and from their tents. Guests are advised to remain in their tents after dark, and they will be escorted between their tents and the common areas (lounge/dining) by a staff member/askari, as need arises. Each tent is equipped with a whistle to call for assistance in case of emergency. There is also a walkie-talkie in each guest tent that can be used from 6pm to 6am if guests wish to communicate with the askaris or management. All our vehicles are fully equipped with HF radios for communications with camp during game drives. We recommend that each client purchases Flying Doctors’ medical evacuation cover so that emergency evacuation planes can be called in the event of an emergency.

Tipping
It is customary to tip your guide and camp staff, however it is not compulsory and tips should only be given if you are satisfied with the service provided.
