In order for you to experience the real safari feeling, we offer a blend of tasty food which includes a well balanced mix of European and African Cuisine in fresh quality served at our restaurant which is included in our full board program. Our staffs provide friendly services and our genuine cozy Safari Style accommodation provides the comfort you need while staying with us. The lodge is built with natural materials obtained from the area which allows the it to fit in with the environment in which it stands just right at the boundary of the largest National Park in Kenya; The Tsavo East.
When building our lodge we did as much as possible not to distort the environment in which we are, thereby keeping it as natural as possible. Even at that, we still succeeded in offering a bush-typical Luxury and harmonized it with many traditional details nobody wants to miss while on Safari.
Our 13 double rooms and 2 triple rooms are located at the 2 permanent building wings. All our guest rooms are fully equipped with bathrooms with hot water, shower and toilet and the beds are all fitted with large mosquito nets.
Our Safari Bar offers a variety of international brands and classic cocktails as well as own creations after a dry and hot day in the bush.
Adventures
After a game drive or whenever you please, or maybe you feel like relaxing the whole day, our junior pool is available for both adults and kids to take a refreshing break. Enjoy also our sundeck for tanning, reading , watch birds and you can also relax on our terrace.
Our “African Village” is transformed after dark to a traditional camp fire place. Sometimes in the evening and during lunch as well, we offer nice entertainment of live traditional music .
The band performs nice soft background music from different traditional Kenyan tribes and our guest are also invited to perform with the band using the traditional instruments. For clients who are interested, you can join our guides on a Game Walk and learn about reading spoors, about vegetation and how it is used for preparing traditional medicine and from some hills around the area you could have a wonderful view of the National Park.
The biggest adventure for everybody is the Game Drive in the National Park. Encounter the herds of animals and see the famous Red Elephants. Their numbers have raised to more than 10,000 during the past years. The park is also home to many lions, cheetahs, antelopes, giraffes and other mammals. It also offers a large variety of bird-life.
The visit of the Elephant Orphans is a very unique experience, this orphanage is just right in our neighborhood and they are taken care of by professional staff of the D. Sheldrick Wildlife trust. Please understand that only foster parents are allowed to visit the Orphans. Please contact the organization for further information.
For all guests interested in original African Cuisine we do offer a morning of African Cooking. One of our Chefs will guide and assist you, preparing a mouthwatering African dish for your personal Lunch.
Our Excursion “People and Landscape of Tsavo” offers a visit to the traditional Maasai Village (Manyatta) and also a drive into the farming area of the Taita tribe. On the way you will also be able to measure one of the largest Baobab trees in the area. On the way, we would make a short drive along the endless sisal plantation to complete this half-day-trip.
